RIVER CRUISES ON THE RIVER EMAJÕGI

A river cruise on the motorboat “Pegasus” is an excellent opportunity to get to know the Emajõgi Riverland.
Regular river cruises on the River Emajõgi start every day at 3 pm in Tartu, in front of the nightclub Atlantis. In addition to that, it is possible to rent the ship for various events, either for birthdays or summer days, weddings or other gatherings. Children are most welcome – graduation and study trips on the River Emajõgi will certainly be remembered for a long time. The ship can accommodate max. 70 passengers. Awning will protect the passengers from rain and blazing sun; there is a bar in the salon and a comfortable place for relaxing. Catering and assistance on organizing events is available. If necessary, microphone and CD player are available as well.
“Pegasus” travels towards both Lake Peipsi and Lake Võrtsjärv. Downstream Tartu, on the high banks of Emajõgi there are a lot of manors, some of them dating back before the Livonian War. The most beautiful of these manors, built during various periods and preserved until today, have been placed under the protection as national heritage. Kaagvere manor, Luunja, Mäksa, Kavastu and Kastre manors and manor parks can be seen from the river.
Further towards Lake Võrtsjärv we reach Alam-Pedja Nature Reserve, which, owing to its various landscapes, is inhabited by varied and rich avifauna – there are 193 registered bird species. On the meadows there are plants that are rare both in Estonia as well as in Europe.
