Silja Line deal is Estonia’s biggest yet

14.06.2006
The purchase of Silja Line by Tallink is the biggest purchase of a foreign company that any Estonian company has ever accomplished. It is comparable to the takeover of Hansapank by Swedbank in 2005. Enn Pant, head of Tallink hinted that the price of Silja Line decreased during negotiations significantly. Tallink Group is investing over EEK 20 billion (EUR 1.28 billion) in its expansion in following four years. This sum is almost a third of the entire state budget of Estonia.
