Less Finnish tourists choosing Tallinn hotels

20.07.2006
The number of Finnish tourists visiting Tallinn is falling due to high hotel prices. Jyrki Talonen, head of the Ikaalisteni travel agency says that prices of hotels in Tallinn follow the Finnish market, but that does not meet tourists’ expectations. Aamulehti writes that last year the number of Finns visiting Tallinn fell by 11%. Talonen believes that several new hotels, which will be completed in Tallinn in the winter, will intensify competition and lower prices. A room for two people plus breakfast costs EUR 138 at the Viru Hotel, EUR 150 at the Radisson SAS and EUR 102 at the Metropol.
