Eesti Kunstiakadeemia Galerii Tallinnas / Description

The Gallery of the Estonian Academy of Arts was established in 1995 and it occupies the 200 m2 of the foyer of the main building.
The majority of the 25 exhibitions held every year show the work of the Academy’s departments, students and teachers.
Above all, the Gallery functions as a stepping stone for art students and the newly graduated artists for whom it is often the first opportunity to present his or her work to the greater public.
Final and year projects and the students’ experimental projects should give a good overview of the study programmes of the Academy, the level of teaching and trends of ideas. In addition, the work of artists from Estonia and abroad are exhibited and historical exhibitions organised.
The Gallery has good relations with the Latvian Academy of Arts, the art academy in Helsinki and other European higher art education institutes, in cooperation with which joint exhibitions in Estonia and abroad are organised.
