Ilon Wiklandi Lapsepõlvekodu / Description

The childhood town of world famous children books writer Astrid Lindgren's illustrator Ilon Wikland was Haapsalu. In 1930-s she lived at her grandparents in a nice yellow house on the corner of Linda and Rüütli streets. Wikland emigrated to Sweden in 1944. Haapsalu times brought small town motifs to her drawings, in Ilons creation you will find images of Haapsalu wooden houses, castle walls and railway station.
Interesting to know:
Ilon Wikland gave as a present 800 of her original drawings to Haapsalu, you can see them in the gallery opened in 2006 on Kooli street. In addition to gallery certainly visit children theme park Ilons Wonderland.
