Kekkose Matkarada / Description

The Kekkonen Hiking Track can be used all year long – in summer for hiking, jogging and cycling, and in winter for skiing. The track was named after the former President of Finland, Urho Kaleva Kekkonen, who visited Kääriku. The 15 km track starts from the Kääriku Ski Stadium and runs up and down through several beautiful spots, including Harimägi Hill. Harimägi is one of the largest mesas of the Otepää Highlands (211.3 m above sea level).
The wooden Harimägi Viewing Tower, which is 26 m high, is right next to the Kekkonen Hiking Track. Those with more energy can go for an additional 5 km loop on Harimägi Hill.
