Maiasmokk is the oldest café anywhere in Tallinn and indeed Estonia - it has been in the same location since 1864. The café is unique due to its interior, which has remained unchanged for almost a century.

In this cosy café you can enjoy its fresh pastries, pies and cakes, as well as delicious handmade candies.

There is a marzipan museum in the cafe building which provides a fascinating overview of the history of the treat - which was originally made by pharmacists as a type of medicine before gaining popularity as a sweet. There is always an artist in the museum decorating marzipan figures, and they will often take visitors' requests!
