Just off the Kiviõli-Sonda road you will see the highest artificial hill in the Baltic States – an amalgamation of residue from the processing of oil shale. Today the hill is covered in a variety of plants and small trees. Stairs lead to the top of the hill, where you will enjoy an outstanding view of the surrounding area and industrial landscape.
From the top you will also see the Kiviõli Adventure Tourism Centre, which is undergoing redevelopment. It already offers a motocross track, which holds international competitions. It will soon be joined by a health trail, adventure park and skiing and snowboarding hills.
