Estonian Air flies in wind of profit

22.02.2006
Estonian Air, which served more than 600,000 passengers last year, is planning to launch two new planes in April in order to service even more passengers and to satisfy increasing demand of charter flights. Two new Boeings will increase Estonian Air’s plane park to six planes. Company’s board president Olev Schults says that they will not buy completely new planes because it would be too big an investment. At the moment, Estonian Air is flying to 17 European destinations, the most popular of which are Copenhagen, Stockholm, London and Oslo. Three new destinations will be added this spring – Simferopol, Dubrovnik and Barcelona. The company will also add flights to the Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen routes. Estonian Air’s profit was EEK 65.9 million with more than EEK 1 billion turnover last year.
