Ida-Viru County holds tourism conference
The tourism conference “The sun rises from Ida-Viru County” took place in Ida-Viru, Estonia, on December 7-8. Tourist attractions were introduced and discussions were held on the county’s tourism development plan. Ida-Viru county's general director, Ago Silde, stressed that county’s priorities are education, entrepreneurship and tourism. Since 2001, the number of people visiting the county has grown by five times; 72% of guests are domestic tourists. Silde hopes to develop adventure, business, conference and even military tourism.
