Tallink to order a fifth ship

Tallink has ordered a fifth new ship from Italian ship building company Fincantier and signed an optional contract for the construction of a sixth ship. The constructed 36,000 gross tonnage passenger ship will be able to accommodate 2000 passengers and 2000 metres of vehicles. The maximum speed of the ship is 29 knots. The ship will be ready by the first half of 2008 and will operate on the Tallinn-Helisnki route. On Monday, Tallink announced it had ordered a fast ferry for the Tallinn-Helsinki route from Finnish ship building company Aker Finnyards. The vessel will be launched in spring 2007-
