Kukulinnan Kartano / Esittely

Under the ancient trees in the park we find the manorial buildings – the main building and the servant’s house on the shores of the lake erected at the turn of the 19th and 20th presently protected as architectural heritage. In the years 1921-1924 the manor was a summer house of the higher art school “Pallas” where students works under the supervision of V. Mellik, A. Tassa (1922), K. Mägi (1923) and N. Triik (1924). At the same time the picturesque southern shores of Lake Saadjärv became very soon a most popular summer resort for artists and writers of Tartu.
