Tallinn Jazz Weekend 2011

The best jazz groups in Estonia will be performing on 23 & 24 September as part of the showcase festival Tallinn Jazz Weekend, which will be working with the European Jazz Network (EJN) to bring in a large number of festival organisers, promoters and journalists from all over Europe.

The opening concert on 22 September will see performances by a 19-member orchestra of the best Estonian musicians, conducted by leading European conductor, arranger and keyboard instrument virtuoso Django Bates. They will be playing Bates’ own music, which weaves together the fantasies of the modern world with the best traditions of big band music. Django Bates (UK) & the Estonian Project Big Band will also be performing at the Viljandi Folk Music Barn on 21 September and at Russian Culture Center in Tallinn on 22 September.
