EXHIBITION “SAYINGS ABOUT BREAD”
From May 18 to Sept 28 on the territory and in the farmhouses of the museum
An opportunity to discover the links between Estonian language and culture through phrases about bread.

LIVING HISTORY WALKING TOURS AT THE EXHIBITION “SAYINGS ABOUT BREAD”
On May 24, 25, 26 and August 24, 25, 26
The exhibition comes to life, and the visitors will find themselves in the 19th century with its parish paupers, retired soldiers and an operating parish court. The walk is guided by the author of the exhibition who provides plenty of explanations. Prior registration is required for the participation in the walking tours.

You can try dancing to live music yourself.

KÖSTRIASEME FARM
Weaving

From June 2 to Sept 2 on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00
Fabric for an urban-style dress is being woven on the weaving loom
Farm work of the past
In summer months on Wednesdays and at weekends from 10:00 to 18:00
Making things from straw, sawing logs with a two-man saw and other tasks.
Dyeing yarn with plants
In summer months on Fridays from 10:00 to 18:00
In the summer kitchen there is a bubbling pot with yarn being dyed with plants.

NUKI HANDICRAFT FARM
From May 14 to Sept 16 every day from 10:00 to 18:00
Masters of handicraft present new techniques and their artistic production every week.

HÄRJAPEA FARM
Handicraft

In summer months on Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00
Handicraft techniques and patterns from the old times.
Cooking days
In summer months on Sundays from 10:00 to 15:00
Delicious and healthy dishes are made by the recipes from the 1920s–1930s.

PULGA FARM
Wool processing

In summer months on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 18:00
Carding and spinning.
Heating a smoke sauna

LAU VILLAGE SHOP AND SEAMSTRESS’ WORKSHOP
The shop is open every day all year round; the seamstress’ workshop is open in the summer season from Friday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
The Lau village shop is waiting for anyone who is interested in how retail was organized in a village store in the 1930s. At the back of the house there’s the workshop of a seamstress who can be consulted about the fashion of the early 20th century as well as traditional costumes. One can arrange to have period clothing made.

KOLGA FARM
Netting

In summer months on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00
The art of netting vital for fishermen is shown at the farm originating from the island of Hiiumaa.

ROOSTA FARM
Farm children’s games

In summer months on Tuesdays and at weekends from 10:00 to 18:00
The farm owner remembers his youth as a shepherd boy and makes wooden toys for the children. One’s wit and skills can be put to the test in different games.

JÜRI-JAAGU SUMMER KITCHEN
Beer brewing

On June 28
Advice and instructions provided to anyone wishing to brew beer at home.

SEPA FARM
Blacksmithing

From June to August on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 18:00
At weekends coals glow at the Sepa smithy and the heavy blacksmith’s hammer strikes to provide the folk with forged nails, pins and other things.

ANIMALS AT THE MUSEUM
Chicken flock wanders in the yard of Köstriaseme farm. There are piglets on Pulga farm and sheep on Sepa farm. Horses are waiting to take you for a ride from the horse stop by the inn! You can also come across Hanno, the cat. In the forest, there are roe deer and foxes, but make sure you do not go too close to them.
