Kütiorg (hunter's Valley) - Deepest Primeval Valley In Estonia / Описание

Kütiorg, part of the Haanja Nature Park, is the largest and grandest primeval valley of Estonia. It is 4.7 kilometres long and 250-600 metres wide, with a maximum depth of 70 metres. In other words, you could hide the Viru Hotel completely inside Kütiorg, nothing showing. At the bottom of the valley flows the Iskna Stream (also referred to as the Haani Stream), descending 75 metres from the Võru-Vastseliina Highway to Lake Noodasjärv.
The slopes of Kütiorg are covered with woods. Here are fir groves over a century old, uncommonly thick and tall aspens and so on. The descents are permeated with gullies caused by water erosion. In the northeastern part of Kütiorg is the ancient sacrificial site called Tammetsõõr and Ilmamägi. Three watermills can be found in the northern part of the valley, along the Iskna Stream, and one of these watermills is still functioning. The Kütiorg slope's angle and height are well-suited for slalom in the winter and mountain bike rides and hiking in the summer.
