Turku planning new sea connections with Estonia
The city of Turku in Helsinki is negotiating with four companies to open a shipping route to Estonia, writes the Finnish paper Taloussanomat. Turku is considering a year-round transport connection and Tallinn is not the only destination. Viking Line’s executive manager, Nils-Erik Eklund, doubts if there will be enough passengers for a Turku-Tallinn route to make it profitable. According to Tallink CEO Keijo Mehtonen, his company is not currently interested in new shipping lines.
