Estonian travel packages rise in price

24.04.2006
Tour operators in Estonia admit that the price of travel packages have risen considerably in the last year, but despite this they are still managing to sell most of them. Egypt is still the most popular destination for Estonians. Merit Aava, marketing manager of Marhaba Tours, says that Thailand or Dubai would be good alternatives to Egypt, but travel there costs twice as much. The average Estonian travels a couple of times a year, alleges Top Tours sales manager Riiva Leevand. The cost of most travel packages has risen by EEK 1,000-2,000 (EUR 64-128) compared to last season mostly due to the rise in hotel prices and plane tickets, say travel agents.
