State-owned forests in Estonia offer plenty of opportunities to get away from it all in small forest houses and cabins that include special campfire grounds and firewood. According to Jaak Jansen of the State Forest Management Centre, the difference between a forest house and a cabin is that it is possible to lock the door of a forest house and ensure more privacy, but you have to pay for using forest houses. Forest cabins are free, but their doors are not lockable. It is possible to book forest houses and prices range from EEK 300 (EUR 19) to EEK 100 for one night, the average price being EEK 600.
