Kroogi Farm of Mihkel Kiibus / Description

The farmstead of the shipwright Mihkel Kiibus with a cottage completed in 1936 is located in the village of Valgu. The farm was bequeathed to the museum by Helma Kiibus, his daughter, in 1988.

The Kiibus household is a typical pre-war sailor's home with its joys and sorrows – whichever life brought to the family. The writer Esta Aksli was inspired by this farm to write her book 'Lendas väike lepatriinu' ('Flight of a Tiny Ladybug').

The cottage offers a rare opportunity to see time stopped in its tracks – in this home, nothing has changed since the family left.
