Kalevipoeg (monument To The War Of Independence)

Kalevipoeg was an ancient warrior, the hero of Estonia’s national epic. The statue, which was created as an Estonian Liberation War memorial was completed in 1933 and was destroyed by Soviet occupation forces in 1950. The new statue, restored by E.Vali, was raised in the same place 53 years later, in 2003.
